Hi everyone, In regards to the three day quote challenge put forward by my friend Miraclegirlblog. Here comes the quote for Day 2 quote challenge.

A Quote by William Shakespeare

“A  friend is one that knows you as you are, understands where you have been, accepts that you have become, and still, gently allows you to grow”

Good friends are hard to come by, if you have one as described by William Shakespeare- never let him or her leave, they are rare gems. They stand by you through thick and thin. If you don’t have one keep searching, don’t surround yourself with bad people all in the name of having a friend, it’s sure better to have none than having one bad friend.

A second Quote by Mark Twain

mark-twain

“If you tell the truth, you don’t have to remember anything”

Tell the truth and be set free, telling lies gives one headache because you will have to keep trying to remember what you told the last time, at the end of it all you tell people different people different tales of same story just because you couldn’t remember what you told them previously.

A Third Quote by Mother Teresa

Mother-Teresa

“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love”

Doing great things is everyone’s desire, to be well known and be able to make big impart on our community or generation, but it’s not for all, some can do small things with great love which will live marks of great love behind. Spread the love!

The first quote for day 1 goes thus:

A Quote by Nelson Mandela

There’s no easy walk to freedom anywhere, and many of us will have to pass through the valley of the shadow of death again and again before we reach the mountaintop of our desires.

We all have our goals and desires, who doesn’t? Not me anyways.Strive hard, don’t stop, keep moving, you will always meet tough heartbreaking challenges along the way, but never give up, you will get there.

A second Quote by Will Smith

will-smith

Throughout life people will make you mad, disrespect you and treat you bad. Let God deal with the things they do, cause hate in your hate will consume you too.

There are lots of people out there with challenges, you never know whats up in their head or what they are passing through at that moment, whatever they do, never take it personal, brush it off, and move on. Remember you are on a journey and no one is allowed to bring you down.

Today I will like to nominate:

Stop Running From Your Shadow

In response to this week’s discover challenge –  I would like to share with others a piece of advice I received from someone back in high school.

“Stop running from your shadow”. She called me alone to say just that short sentence to me which I pondered on for a pretty long time without actually accepting the truth behind it.

Back in high school I was someone I would say was POPULAR without a particular reason, I just didn’t get it, I never understood the logic behind my popularity. I was a very simple, level headed lady in school, I loved to be alone but unfortunately for me people loved me, they wanted to be friends with me, they wanted me to lead them, guess what I hated all these with a passion 😏, I felt it was too much of a burden for me to carry, all I wanted was my peace, just a few friends, study and go home to my best friend (Television).

It was that way for me all through my years of studying, and until I got my first job, it was still staring right into my face, people wanted to be like me, listen to me, do as I do, seriously I never understood it. Until I met someone else again who told me to just be myself and face my fears. I sat myself down to review the path of life I had lived and was living, I realized that I had been lucky, I would have lost a lot due to my insecurity and shadow fear 😊😊

Now I can face my fears, I can face responsibilities, I realized I didn’t need to be best of friends with all these people but to be attentive to their feelings, now I talk to them, I listen, I don’t mind if they wish to do as I do, I love making people smile. My colleagues love to dress the way I dress, up to my hairstyle, and really I have more confidence now, I encourage them, I give them tips on dating and fashion, I have also learnt not to take things personally due to my emotions. The benefit of all this is that it has opened doors of opportunities for me. My accepting my shadow has promoted me to an upstanding individual. I’m blessed that it wasn’t too late for me to come to terms with it.

My piece of advice based on my pervious experience is to never run from your shadow.

Stylish Men Get All The Beautiful Ladies

Guys try to dress stylishly for a number of reasons…One of which is to impress women. Some guys said they dress to impress their colleagues, some care less about what they wear, a few of them appeared to look stylish to maintain their company brand name, while a greater number of them said they dress well to impress as well as attract beautiful women!

Yes it’s true…. Every woman has a taste in what she likes seeing guys wear. They want men that understand what looking good means, one that takes care of himself. Definitely a man that knows good quality body spray….It’s important for all men especially for those that leave home without having a shower.

Stylish- Men- Get -All- the- Beautiful- Ladies

Clothes, Fashion, Style- Is usually touted as something that women care about, style for men make up a lot of unspoken cues when they meet people.

I rallied up 6 of my girlfriends, single and married, I asked them what their thoughts were about ‘what men wear,’ and I was able to get this from them.

Lola (Writer): I love seeing men in T-shirts on not too baggy blue jeans. Specifically, it could also be a long sleeve shirt but must be designed by Hawes and Curtis.

stylish-men-shoes

Samantha (Lawyer): I want men that dress like men because it makes a statement, a man in well tailored suit, classy tie to go with it, a killer pair of Chelsea shoes and nice body cologne is on point for me.

Kimberly (Business Merchant): “I don’t like my husband’s taste of wears; I’m considering doing him a complete makeover. I love men that dress like movie stars”.

Tiffany (Financial Adviser):  I date only men with good style…smelly, dirty guys are top of my list of ‘turn off’. I would love what a man wears provided that it’s clean, smells nice and has got style written all over like a brand name.

Belinda (Model): I love dudes in slim fitted jeans and T-shirts, there’s just something sexy and classy about it that turns me on…all topped up with Jean Paul Gaultier Cologne.”

For me, it’s purely a medium of self expression. It’s a way to subtly signal where they fit in.

The Storm Is Over Now

Storm raged my inner being

almost wrenched out my heart

with fierce agony, I walked down the streets

dogs barking at me

flies created settlement in my filthy hair

I staggered around dragging my feet

nowhere to go

while contemplating suicide

the lord appeared

he wiped away my tears

held me in his arms

fed me

clothed me

he  shamed the demons

and set me free

here I am today, the storm is over

I can see the light now as heaven has smiled down on me.

I have always loved this song written and produced by R. Kelly, it was released back then in year 2000. Please enjoy it as much as I do. It’s a music that will take you back memory lane, ginger your spirit, revive your inner mind, set you on the motion path of inspiration to determination, to survive and succeed regardless of all obstacles.

Storms will always wither away, just if only we are patient and believe we will make it. We all go through storms, no one on this earth is an exception, the strong one will stand the test of time.

Everyone including me has a story to tell, the good, bad, ugly and stimulating ones. We shall have good stories to tell as we remain firm, strong and faithful for others to learn from it and also have hope to move on.

This post is in response to the one word prompt. Storm.
