Facing Hard Truths

I remember when I was young and thought all sorts of religions and belief systems would ultimately lead us to God. Listening to a morning devotion through an application on my phone called “Glorify” reminded me of this bias in the world.

In the Bible, Jesus unequivocally declares, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). His life, death, and resurrection are understood to be the ultimate revelation of God’s love and grace. Faith in Jesus is the only means of reconciliation with God and eternal life.

In the vast expanse where shadows roam,
A voice echoes, clear as a bell’s tone.
“I am the way, the truth, the life,” it cries,
Guiding souls through darkness to brighter skies.

Through valleys deep and mountains high,
This truth endures.
With unwavering faith, we take each step,
In His love and mercy, we find our depth.

Let his guiding light make you whole.
For in Him alone, true freedom lies,
“I am the way, the truth, the life,” He cries.

The Warrior Became Daring

It was a mission that looked so impossible to fulfill,

In the aftermath of the initial battle that was fought,

He could not raise his arms in warfare anymore.

He was the greatest warrior, had been, but will he always be?

The multitude stood before him, faces that looked like thunderstorm, raging with fire, children cried out to him, arms stretched out to help him to his feet. He was their only hope.

The women walked out naked, daring him to bestow upon them the freedom they desired. He stood up, intensified by the crowd urging him, nudging him, he struggled to get up, he fought, he conquered, he set them free.

He joined his lover with intensified heat, locked her up in his bruised arms, and kissed her.

Be daring to conquer

Be daring to live up to the challenge

Be daring to claim what’s your’s!

Reach Out To Them

Indigent, poverty-stricken

Begging for alms,

Now their survival technique

They cry out for help

Not their fault, deprived

Of their homes

Reach out to them

Emotionally detached,

Sad, loneliness has overridden joy

Living in an environment

With fierce combart

They’ve been hurt, deprived

Of the pleasures they deserve

Reach out to them.

Abused, battered,

The wicked has shown them hostility

Fear has crippled into them

They hide amongst the crowd

They can’t cry out, deprived

Of freedom they deserve

Reach out to them.

Dying of ill-health

From an ailment with no cure

A bad omen for them

Negativity has crawled into them

They are upset, deprived

Of help from those that can offer

Reach out to them.
